This refillable lightweight composite LPG gas bottle is ideal for use in all kinds of gaseous LPG applications, such as in your camper, caravan, garden or holiday home. The composite material (plastic) ensures that the bottle is robust and corrosion-free and is suitable for permanent outdoor use.
The plastic gas cylinder with OPD (Overfill Protection Device = 80% filling limiter) is designed and intended to be used as a refillable stationary gas cylinder for the use of vapor gas (not suitable for gas consumption in liquid form). The gas bottle is approved for 10 years usage.
IMPORTANT: The gas bottle is filled with compressed air upon arrival. Release the air pressure from the gas bottle before filling it with gas.
Thanks to the 80% filling limiter (Overfill Protection Device), no more than 80% can be filled. The pressure relief valve ensures that the pressure can never exceed 27 bar. This guarantees safety. These facilities make a refillable OPD gas cylinder much safer than a regular non-refillable gas cylinder.
The semi-transparent gas bottle shows you how much gas is still available.
This type of LPG gas bottle stores and releases LPG gas (Propane and Butane gas), which is used as an energy source in, for example, Campers, Caravans and Food Trucks. The plastic gas cylinder with OPD (Overfill Protection Device = 80% filling limiter) is designed and intended to be used as a refillable stationary gas cylinder for the use of vapor gas (not suitable for gas consumption in liquid form).
Due to its low empty weight, the gas cylinder is particularly suitable as a mobile storage of LPG for use in various trades, construction work and camping and leisure activities, etc. (Boats, Campers and Caravans, BBQ, Patio heating, Burners)
Where can I refill my Gas Bottle? For example in the Netherlands, gas bottles may not be filled directly onto the bottle at the pump.
A gas bottle must be equipped with an 80% filling limiter, be properly secured in the vehicle and have an external filling connection.
Filling may be only permitted at and by authorized filling stations. This depends on national regulations.
You can choose to optionally order a filling adapter or a filling set with outer filler with this gas bottle, which makes it possible to connect the LPG gas bottle to an LPG filling station.
Optional Shell - Bayonet Fill Adapter (with W21.8 internal thread for extension with other fill adapters)
The Direct Fill Adapter is a brass adapter that you can screw directly onto the gas bottle and on the other end of which there is a bayonet connection with an internal W21.8 thread. A foreign filling nipple can be screwed on to this. (Order optionally)
Optional LPG filling set for gas cylinder with outer filler and 3m filling line
This set allows you to fill the gas bottle(s) without removing the tank from the vehicle. You can fill the tank directly using an outer filling point and a pipe. The filling set consists of a Shell coupling for the gas bottle that connects to the thermoplastic pipe (3m of length in the normal filling set and 4m in the double filling set) that can be cut to length. At the other end of the pipe, connect the outer filling connection that can be fixed in the bodywork or under the vehicle. This filling connection has an internal W21.8 thread into which a filling nozzle can be screwed, such as a bayonet (NL, UK, etc.) or another type of filling nozzle for other countries (optional).
Advantages of universal filling set:
- Very universally applicable and therefore always suitable for your camper or caravan
- More than sufficient pipe length that can be shortened as desired
- Filling connection recessed in sheet metal or under the vehicle
- Very high quality thanks to Automotive ECE 67R-01 certification
- Easy to install yourself
- Complete with pipe brackets to fix everything neatly
TIP! The thermoplastic pipe can be shortened to the desired length. Use a good, sharp hose cutter or a cutter for this. Cut the pipe neatly straight.
Additional Foreign Filling Nozzles: Do you also want to be able to fill in other countries where the bayonet connection is not used? Then we recommend that you order additional foreign filling nozzles. You can choose which one you want to add.
Gas Bottle with OPD-tap:
An OPD GAS BOTTLE has only one connection for both filling the gas bottle and for releasing the gas. Just like you refill a water bottle and then drink from it again.
So you must first fill the gas bottle and then disconnect the filling connection and then you can connect a pressure regulator (or a high pressure hose) to the gas bottle again.
Position of the OPD gas cylinder tap: Centrally located at the top.
Gas inlet = Gas outlet: Shell Male G.12 (W21.8 1/14 LH) with manual tap
This is a manual valve with an OPD (Overfill Protection Device) that ensures that access is closed by means of a float in the gas bottle when the liquid level reaches 80%. This type of tap is also equipped with a pressure relief valve. That is why this type of gas bottle is suitable for filling like an LPG tank.
This type of hand tap has the following features:
- Hand tap for opening/closing the gas bottle
- Internal float with an 80% filling limiter
- Overpressure valve that opens and blows off if the pressure in the tank becomes too high (26 bar).
- Single connection for both filling and gas extraction: EN15252: G.12 = W21.8 x 1/14 (M22) (Left-hand thread type SHELL connection with rubber sealing ring)
Gas Bottle with MultiValve
If you are looking for a gas bottle to apply on a fixed location (for example in your camper or caravan) and you do not want to have to change the connections (from filling to extraction and vice versa), then using a MULTIVALVE GAS BOTTLE may be a better option for you. This type of gas bottle has its own filling inlet (with 80% filling stop) and a separate gas outlet to which you can permanently keep the pressure regulator or high pressure pipe or high pressure filter connected.
This type of gas bottle has the following features:
- Own filling connection (1/2" UNF Flare) with internal float with 80% filling limiter.
- Overpressure valve that opens and blows off if the pressure in the tank becomes too high (26 bar).
- Tank float with tank level indicator
- Hand tap for opening/closing the gas supply
- Separate gas connection: EN15252: G.12 = W21.8 x 1/14 (M22) (Left-hand thread type SHELL connection with rubber sealing ring)
- Always keep the gas bottle upright. (with the tap above)
- Do not drop the gas bottle, as damage may occur to the bottle or the couplings.
- Do not store the gas bottle near an open flame.
- Do not use or store below ground floor level. Leaked gas will accumulate at a low level.
- The storage space must be well ventilated to the outside area.
- Do not use tools to open the tap.
- Gas bottles and pressure regulators are equipped with a pressure relief valve, for this reason these parts may not be placed inside (the living space of) a camper or caravan. These serve in a ventilated space that is connected to the outside air and not connected to the indoor space.
- Check the hoses regularly and see if the cylinder is properly secured. If the hoses are damaged or show signs of wear, replace the hoses (use the correct quality hoses).
- Follow the NPR-2577 guidelines or your national guidelines
