This filling set with outer filler can be connected to two gas bottles with a SHELL connection (also called G.5. G1.2) with left-hand thread, so that you can safely fill your gas bottle. (Only use gas bottles with 80% fill protection). Ideal for in your camper or caravan. Thermoplastic LPG pipe length to be used up to a maximum of 4 meters (to be shortened as desired).
Instead of copper pipe, plastic pipe is now used with various advantages such as flexibility and the fact that it does not buckle quickly. In order to connect the plastic pipe to another part, just as you would do with a copper pipe, it is necessary to connect an end piece (connecting piece) of that type of pipe, which in turn is equipped with a Ø8 mm pipe (just like a copper pipe).
The filling connection (Flat Filler) is supplied with the desired filling adapter. You can connect optional foreign filling nipples with W21.8 thread to the flat filler.
Complete set consisting of:
- 1 x External filling connection Type Flat Filler W21.8mm connection and with outlet Angled 1/2" UNF + adapter 8mm compression fitting
- 4 x Couplings for LPG pipe 8mm ( 2x Straight + 2x Angled)
- 4 Meter Thermoplastic LPG-Hose FARO (can be shortened)
- 2 x Adapter Piece 8mm-compression x SHELL LH W21.8 (left-hand thread)
- 5 x Pipe bracket for fixing the pipe
- 1 x T-piece for plastic pipe
- Optional: Filling adapter (Bayonet, ACME, DISH, EURO-Connector or All Countries)
Advantages of the universal outdoor filling set:
- Very universally applicable and therefore always suitable for your camper or caravan
- More than sufficient pipe length that can be shortened as desired
- Filling connection recessed into sheet metal or under the vehicle using the supplied bracket
- Very high quality thanks to Automotive ECE 67R-01 certification
- Easy to install
- Complete with pipe brackets to fix everything neatly
What is the Gas Bottle with OPD:
An OPD GAS BOTTLE has only one connection for both filling the gas bottle and for releasing the gas. Just like you refill a water bottle and then drink from it again.
So you must first fill the gas bottle and then disconnect the filling connection and then you can connect a pressure regulator (or a high pressure hose) to the gas bottle again.
Position of the OPD gas cylinder tap: Centrally located at the top.
Gas inlet = Gas outlet: Shell Male G.12 (W21.8 1/14 LH) with manual tap
This is a manual valve with an OPD (Overfill Protection Device) that ensures that access is closed by means of a float in the gas bottle when the liquid level reaches 80%. This type of tap is also equipped with a pressure relief valve. That is why this type of gas bottle is suitable for filling like an LPG tank.
This type of hand tap has the following features:
- Hand tap for opening/closing the gas bottle
- Internal float with an 80% filling limiter
- Overpressure valve that opens and blows off if the pressure in the tank becomes too high (26 bar).
- Single connection for both filling and gas extraction: EN15252: G.12 = W21.8 x 1/14 (M22) (Left-hand thread type SHELL connection with rubber sealing ring)
Refillling Gas Bottles:
NB! Please note that in some countries (Italy and a number of Eastern European countries) refueling with LPG is not permitted. This may only be done by the pump station staff. Find out about the regulations of each country where you want to refuel.
Where can I refill my Gas Bottle? For example in the Netherlands, gas bottles may not be filled directly onto the bottle at the pump.
A gas bottle must be equipped with an 80% filling limiter, be properly secured in the vehicle and have an external filling connection.
Filling may be only permitted at and by authorized filling stations. This depends on national regulations.
Filling instructions:
1. Turn off the gas outlet (manual tap).
2. Make sure that the filling pipe with external filling connection or filling adapter is connected leak-free. (If necessary, use a filling adapter abroad)
3. Connect the filling nozzle to the filling connection.
4. Fill the gas bottle with the desired amount (maximum 80%)
5. Disconnect the filling nozzle and the filling pipe / filling coupling. (Be careful! Some LPG may be released)
6. Open the gas bottle tap again after refueling and before use.
General safety advice for LPG:
- Always keep the gas bottle upright.
- Do not drop the gas bottle from your vehicle as it may damage the bottle or the couplings.
- Do not store the gas bottle in the vicinity of an open flame.
- Do not use or store below ground level. Leaked gas will accumulate at a low level.
- The storage must be well ventilated, preferably outside.
- Do not use any tools to open the tap.
- Check the hoses regularly and see if the cylinder is properly secured. If the hoses are damaged or show signs of wear, replace the hoses (use the correct quality hoses).
Note: Filling may be only permitted at and by authorized filling stations.
