LPG Tank Frame 95cm Universal + Insulation Strip - for LPG Cylinder Tanks
LPG Tank Frame 95 cm for LPG cylinder tank mounting (vapor tanks) in combination with lashing straps (tank straps). Suitable for LPG cylinder tanks with a diameter of 27 cm and up to 40 cm and a maximum length of approximately 105 cm. The tank straps are standard not included with this product. Order them yourself according to your choice and needs. We have two types of lashing straps: 20 mm wide and 30 mm wide. (See related products on this page.)
Optional Strap Brackets: This tank rack is standard suitable for use in combination with 2 tank straps (lashing straps). If you need to use 4x tank straps for your application (for example because the tank straps also have to support the weight of the gas tank), you can order the additional corner brackets separately. These still need to be welded to the tank frame.
Application: A tank frame is used in combination with lashing straps (tank straps) to attach an LPG cylinder tank (LPG vapor tank) with a tank diameter of 270 mm and up to 400 mm. The weld seams of the tank must fall within the length of the tank frame. As an indicative rule, you can determine the length between the weld seams by subtracting 10 cm from the total tank length.
The correct number of tank straps and mounting bolts to use depends, among other things, on the tank capacity and the position of the LPG tank. Consult the national installation requirements (see the appendices tab on this page).
Coating: The tank frame is untreated. We recommend that the tank frame be provided with a protective anti-rust coating after any adjustments, such as the installation of additional mounting holes, mounting brackets and/or a bulkhead.

In the case the LPG tank is placed lengthwise (in the direction of travel), a cross connection (headboard) must be installed at the front of the tank frame to prevent the tank from sliding off the frame. This cross connection needs to:
A. have at least the same thickness as the tank frame;
B. be at least 30 mm high with the top of the cross connection being at least 30 mm above the bottom of the tank, and
C. be as close as possible to or within the convexity of the tank.
The tank frame is not provided with such a cross connection (headboard) as standard and must, if necessary, be installed on the correct side of the tank rack.
Provide the entire tank installation with a protective coating as soon as everything is properly fixed. This is particularly important in the case of substructure. This extends the life of the tank and structure. Preferably repeat this annually.
Have the installation of the gas tank and the assembly of the tank frame carried out and/or checked by an expert person or specialist company.
Follow the national regulations and installation requirements fora correct installation. (see the attachments tab on this page).
For substructure of an LPG cylinder tank larger than 80L (where the tank straps also have to support the weight of the tank), we recommend mounting them using: tank fixation rings or cylinder tank brackets instead of using a tank frame and tension straps.
For surface-mounted and LPG cylinder tanks larger than 140 L, we do not recommend mounting them using a tank frame and tank straps, but a specially intended tank bracket set is available for a tank diameter of 450 mm.
Attach the tank frame to a sufficiently strong structure at the predetermined location with a sufficient number of bolts of the correct quality. (review the installation requirements of your national authority.
The gas tank must not make metallic contact with the tank frame. Therefore, use the supplied insulation strip and apply it to the tank frame.
Position the gas tank on the prepared tank frame. Pay attention to the mark (cross with arrow) on the gas tank for correct positioning for proper functioning of the gas tank. The mark indicates the top and the horizontal center plane.
The tank straps (lashing straps) go over the tank and the ends of a tank straps go through the fixation bracket and then back around the tank, under the previously mentioned part of the tank strap that you have just installed. The ends of the tank straps go through the fixation brackets and back under the same tension strap with a minimum overlap of 15 cm (preferably more).
On the rear side of the tank frame the fixation brackets are bolted to the frame. While on the front side, the fixation brackets with the bolt is attached to the upright angular brackets on the tank frame, so you can bring up to tension the fixation straps by further tightening the bolt / nut. Make sure that the fixation straps are properly tensioned and that the tank is pressed well and firmly onto the tank frame without any play. (See images for reference.)
No weakening points may be made in the fixation straps, for example by making a hole in it. Attaching the fixation straps may only be done with the intended and supplied fixation brackets.
Number of straps: The LPG tank must be secured to the tank frame with at least two tank straps (lashing straps). If the tank straps also need to support the weight of the LPG tank, at least three tank straps must be fitted. However, we recommend using at least 4 tank straps in that case. The tank straps are sold per set (2 pieces). The precise number of tank straps to be used depends, among other things, on the tank contents and the positioning of the LPG tank. Use and respect the national installation requirements (see the appendices tab on this page) for correct installation.
