Is retrofitting and installation really that easy?
The gas pressure regulator with integrated crash sensor is simply screwed onto the gas bottle. The hose line included in the delivery is then connected to the vehicle's pipe line.
The same principle applies to the SafeDrive PLUS two-bottle system. All you have to do is screw on two pressure regulators including a crash sensor and connect them to each other using a gas hose.
Is it possible to switch from any manufacturer to GOK?
There are no restrictions. You can dismantle the old system and retrofit or install the Caramatic SafeDrive. All you need is one or two gas bottles and access to the vehicle's pipework.
Why are gas filters or hose rupture protection not necessary?
The crash sensor on the Caramatic SafeDrive is located directly on the gas cylinder and monitors the entire downstream pipe system. An additional hose rupture protection device is therefore not required. And because, as mentioned, the system is located directly on the gas cylinder, no gas filter is required. This system design has been tried and tested at GOK for decades and has shown no abnormalities in terms of oily residues or dirt in the fittings.
Where exactly is the crash sensor located?
The crash sensor on the Caramatic SafeDrive is located in the blue housing directly after the gas bottle valve and in front of the pressure regulator.
Can I always leave the gas bottle with Caramatic SafeDrive open?
In short: Yes, the gas bottle may always remain open and gas appliances such as heaters or refrigerators may also be operated while driving.
