GOK Caramatic SafeDrive Plus safety gas pressure control system for operating double gas bottle systems in mobile homes and caravans while driving, for direct connection to the gas bottle. consisting of: central and changeover regulator with mechanical crash sensor new with pendulum and pressure gauge, medium pressure hose assemblies and regulator bracket

The new retrofit solution developed by GOK allows existing gas regulator systems in motorhomes, caravans or vans to be quickly and easily replaced with the Caramatic SafeDrive, thus enabling gas to be used while driving .

Consisting of:

  • mechanical crash sensor with new pendulum solution
  • Low-pressure regulator with overpressure safety device S2SR (ÜDS)
  • hose line
  • gas pressure regulator bracket

Technical data

Gas bottle connection G.8 EU-Shell union nut (W21.8x1/14")

Outlet pipe fitting 10 or 8 mm (H. 9)

Advantages of crash sensor with new pendulum solution:

  • faster and easier commissioning and reset after response
  • more precise operation and therefore less interference due to incorrect response
  • Commissioning is possible without any problems, even if the recreational vehicle is in an inclined position
  • easy retrofitting, as no wall mounting of the regulator is necessary; the installation takes place directly on the gas cylinder
  • small space requirement for installation in the gas bottle box
  • Gas bottle can remain permanently open even while driving
  • greater safety, as in the event of an accident the gas supply is interrupted directly at the gas cylinder
  • Medium pressure hose (rubber with textile insert; cold-resistant down to -30 °C; hose dimensions 6.3 x 3.5 mm) G 1/4 LH-ÜM x RVS 10 x 450 mm for connecting the system to the vehicle's supply line
  • Outlet connection RVS 10 / 8 is equipped as standard with a transition piece for connection to 8 mm pipes
  • Brackets for safe storage of the regulator on the wall, e.g. when changing the gas bottle

Is retrofitting and installation really that easy?

The gas pressure regulator with integrated crash sensor is simply screwed onto the gas bottle. The hose line included in the delivery is then connected to the vehicle's pipe line.

The same principle applies to the SafeDrive PLUS two-bottle system. All you have to do is screw on two pressure regulators including a crash sensor and connect them to each other using a gas hose.

Is it possible to switch from any manufacturer to GOK?

There are no restrictions. You can dismantle the old system and retrofit or install the Caramatic SafeDrive. All you need is one or two gas bottles and access to the vehicle's pipework.

Why are gas filters or hose rupture protection not necessary?

The crash sensor on the Caramatic SafeDrive is located directly on the gas cylinder and monitors the entire downstream pipe system. An additional hose rupture protection device is therefore not required. And because, as mentioned, the system is located directly on the gas cylinder, no gas filter is required. This system design has been tried and tested at GOK for decades and has shown no abnormalities in terms of oily residues or dirt in the fittings.

Where exactly is the crash sensor located?

The crash sensor on the Caramatic SafeDrive is located in the blue housing directly after the gas bottle valve and in front of the pressure regulator.

Can I always leave the gas bottle with Caramatic SafeDrive open?

In short: Yes, the gas bottle may always remain open and gas appliances such as heaters or refrigerators may also be operated while driving.
